A practical approach to stewardship
Tyler earned a bachelor’s degree in forest management from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, receiving academic honors throughout his undergraduate education.
His experience includes private-lands forest inventory, management planning, silvicultural evaluations, timber-sale establishment and administration, timber-stand improvement, site-preparation work, and forest-health training.
Before establishing Forests Forward Consulting, Tyler gained experience through forestry work involving UW–Extension, the U.S. Forest Service, and private-sector forestry operations.

Management should follow the landowner’s goals
Timber markets matter, but they should not be the only force directing forest management. Strong decisions consider forest condition, regeneration, wildlife, access, timing, financial objectives, and the future character of the property.
