Common questions

Clear answers before you make a decision

View all FAQs →
What does a consulting forester do?

A consulting forester provides professional forestry advice and services on behalf of the landowner. Depending on the project, that can include forest inventory, management planning, MFL planning, timber-sale preparation, buyer solicitation, harvest oversight, and long-term guidance.

Does Forests Forward Consulting perform logging?

No. Forests Forward Consulting provides planning, timber-sale establishment, and timber-sale administration. Logging is performed by a separate purchaser or logging contractor selected by the landowner.

Does Forests Forward Consulting buy timber?

No. Remaining independent from timber purchasing helps the forester represent the landowner’s management and financial interests.

How much does an MFL plan cost?

MFL plan-writing quotes are currently based on the property’s land size and the acres that need to be evaluated. Tyler can provide a quote after reviewing the basic acreage information.
